Lundbeck Institute Psychiatry Award attributed to a Synapsy study

lundbeck institute

The Lundbeck Institute awarded the Psychiatry Prize 2014 to Eva Choong and Prof. Chin B. Eap for their study on a gene that appears to be associated with overweight and obesity in psychiatric patients. The Prize will be delivered November 13 in Zürich on the occasion of a symposium organized by the Institute.

The study
The findings suggest that CRTC1 contributes to the genetics of human obesity in psychiatric patients and the general population. Identification of high-risk subjects could contribute to a better individualization of the pharmacological treatment in psychiatry.
